Weekend Travel to Bidar From Hyderabad On Pulsar

It was a long planned trip to go to Bidar, one of the forgotten historical place in Karnataka. I went through different posts while googling online. And finally on the Diwali holiday Nov'2013, my wife and me finalized the travel plan to go to Bidar.

As this was our first long motorcycle trip, our plan was to start early and take plenty of rest in the way.

Our journey started from Manikonda .The route plan was as follows.
Bidar is derived from BIDIRV which means bamboo. The place seems to have been known for bamboo cluster in the past.

It is 130 KM from Hyderabad. We went towards Miyapur then took left to catch NH9.We went towards BHEL. After some 10 KM there is a toll booth ,Since I am driving two wheeler, I took the road without toll...Popularly Known as PATLI GALLI. After the Toll booth the real journey started. Road becomes single lane suddenly and lot of path holes sizes from half inches to knee deep. Some places there are no tars at all.

After so much of jurk we landed to Zaheerabad. We stopped APTDC approved Hotel called Haritha[80 KM from Hyderabad]. It was very nice and clean. Good to see their hospitality. The bathrooms are clean and plenty of water to use.We had breakfast as Puri,Idly and tea. Surprisingly these were not spicy as we use to find in Hyderabad. Very Tasty in deed.

After leaving this hotel, we drove around 2 KM to reach the Zaheerabad check post.Well from here we have to take right turn to reach Bidar. Then the driving became very nice. Road is very Nice. You can hardly find any car in the road. On the way you can find many small villages and visiting place.

After reaching Bidar around 11:30AM we found a nice lodge called Krishna Residency. They had parking place and night guard facility. we choose this as our pulsy needed some rest after travelling allmost 150 KM.

Here I have given my pulsar180 nice rest and took a local auto to travel. As the auto driver knew all the shortcut to travel.
A nice travel log would be found here http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/tourer/24116-bidar-land-fort-mosques-tombs-temple-gurudwara.html
Which we follow.

I have provided all experience in the Bidar travel guide in trip advisor..http://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g1236165-d500838-r183856369-Bidar_Fort-Bidar_Karnataka.html

Things to remember:
ASI has imposed a rule that we must need approval from authority to get enter into the fort's main building. There is an office beside museum. Please ask the officer for permission. He will arrange the guide.I have heard that they are going to put ticketing system soon.
